En el istmo de arena que da forma a la frontera más corta del mundo, hay una cuerda azul de 80 metros que nadie puede traspasar. Esta línea separa España de Marruecos, Europa de África. A un lado está el Peñón de Vélez de la Gomera, enclave español fortificado desde hace cinco siglos. Al otro lado, la aldea pesquera de Badis, en el Rif marroquí, que parece vivir suspendida en el tiempo.
Con la llegada a Badis de un cineasta español, miembros de cuatro generaciones del pueblo observan desde la distancia los vestigios de la colonización española.
