European Film Market 2025

Spain will be the Country in Focus at the European Film Market (EFM), held as part of Berlinale 2025 (February 13–19). The program will focus both on strengthening well-established production companies and supporting emerging businesses making their debut in the international market.

In total, the Cinema from Spain pavilion, in collaboration with the ICAA, will host more than 80 companies, including over 20 exhibitors.

Spain's Country in Focus status in this edition brings a series of conferences, premieres, panels, and networking events that position the country as a key player at the festival and in the global audiovisual landscape. One such initiative is the Co-Production Market Spanish Visitors Programme, where 10 emerging Spanish producers will have the opportunity to enter the world of international co-productions through a series of events organized by ICEX and ICAA.

Meanwhile, the Spanish Producers Spotlight will bring together 10 leading Spanish producers, who will present their companies and projects, as well as participate in a networking session.

Additionally, the Berlinale Series Market will host industry professionals from around the world for three days. Audiovisual from Spain, in collaboration with Iberseries & Platino Industria, is organizing Spanish Thrillers, where two new series, Internal Affairs and Shades, will be unveiled, along with a panel dedicated to the genre. One of the standout events at the Berlinale Series Market is The Spanish Connection, where four projects will be presented by their producers or directors: Federation Spain will showcase Dark Waters.; La Mola Studio will present Pink Noise; Mr. Miyagi Films will introduce The Wheel; and The Aurora Project will unveil True North.

On Monday, February 18, the Spain Audiovisual Hub will have its own panel featuring discussions among a select group of public and private industry representatives. The panel will highlight the key features of the hub and provide the latest economic insights into the sector. The second part of the event will showcase the diversity and strong results that have emerged from this initiative.

As part of the Market Screenings, three sales agents will have the opportunity to present their completed projects: Filmax will screen From Good to the Hood and Fury; Film Factory will showcase Barren land and Mikaela; and Latido Films will present Raqqa: Spy vs. Spy and Deaf. Additionally, a selection of Spanish productions featured in the festival itself will be screened, including Juanita, Portals, Close to September, Dressed in Blue (restored classic), Deaf, Only on Earth, and The Message.
