UPA Next is recovering the IP of the series Un paso adelante, which between 2002 and 2005 revolutionized the television panorama by introducing scripted drama
combined with a musical genre on Antena 3.

Atresmedia International Sales shares with The Mediapro Studio Distribution the international marketing of UPA Next, an update of Antena 3’s musical series Un paso adelante.

In Un paso adelante, the Carmen Arranz School of Performing Arts granted the privilege to 20 young people to be part of its high performance center. To do so, they had to pass tough entrance exams in which only the best got through.

The series became a great international sales success, being broadcasted in markets such as France (M6 and Téva), Germany (Vox), Italy (Italia 1 and Sky Vivo) and Chile (Chilevisión).

Now in UPA Next, an original production of Atresmedia Televisión in collaboration with Globomedia (The Mediapro Studio), the action is set 20 years later, but music and dance once again steal the show.

The school team returns to discover a new generation of young actors and dancers of musical numbers. Actors Beatriz Luengo, Mónica Cruz, Miguel Ángel Muñoz and veteran Lola Herrera, from Un paso adelante, feature in the sequel.

Executive produced by Montse García, from Atresmedia, and Laura Fernández-Espeso and Javier Pons, both from The Mediapro Studio, UPA Next has already begun its international tour, having been acquired again by the M6 channel group for broadcast in France, where the series was recently showcased during the last edition of Canneseries.
