Júlia de Paz (Barcelona, 1995) graduated in the School of Cinema and Audiovisual Media of Catalonia (ESCAC), where she directed the short film Ama, the seed of her debut feature film also named Ama (2021). It premiered at Malaga Film Festival, where it was awarded the Silver Biznaga for Best Actress and the Feroz Puerta Oscura Award for Best Film. In 2022 it was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the Goya Awards and for Best Actress at the Feroz Awards. Her last short film Harta is touring festivals such as Clermont Ferrand or Malaga, where it won the Silver Biznaga for Best Actress, the Silver Biznaga for Best Actor and the Audience Award. It also won the Gaudí Award for Best Fiction Short Film. She is currently working in her new feature film Harta, which has been developed in the Residence of the Spanish Film Academy, and has been selected in Berlinale’s 2023 Script Station.
