Where is my name?
Overnight, the lives of Afghan women have been plunged into the kind of nightmare that is the stuff of dystopian movies. While many have had to flee the country, others have chosen to stay and fight for their rights. The victims of a gender apartheid that would banish them from all public life, these women are the last hope of a country that is today on the brink of collapse.
This documentary is a journey into Afghan resistance, the resistance of women who stand up to the Taliban by protesting on the streets, organizing secret school lessons for girls and creating networks to aid other women. It is also a call not to forsake Afghanistan and its people, who are today facing an unprecedented economic and humanitarian crisis, before an unresponsive international community that, after years of connivance with corrupt governments and warlords, bears much responsibility for the situation the country endures today.
