This documentary series tells the story of Thibaut Courtois, one of the best goalkeepers in the world, who leads Real Madrid as they face challenges. His key role in the team's victories in La Liga and the Champions League in 2022 has earned widespread praise. Now, recovering from an injury, Courtois, with the support of teammates like Luka Modric, Fede Valverde, and Rodrygo, along with his family and wife, demonstrates his determination. Throughout this series, we will reflect on his career and examine the unique role of the goalkeeper, comparing it to that of other football legends. Courtois' journey embodies resilience, leadership, and the growing importance of the goalkeeper position in the history of the sport. Our goal is to sell the documentary.

The fight between hunters and hunted, is the most dramatic event in nature. For both, this fight means life or death. This close relationship is inevitable, and they both need each other to exist and thrive. Hunters and prey evolve together and have their own strategies for hunting and not being hunted. But even for the most efficient, success is never guaranteed. From Wild cats to Eagle owls, from Bats to Goshawks, in this film we will discover the hunting strategies of some of the most iconic European predators and their relationships with their target preys. We aim to introduce ‘MEDITERRANEAN HUNTERS II’ to global channels and platforms, and make it reach audiences around the world.

The Galician Mountain Horse breed is disappearing, only a few wild horses resist harassed by cattle thieves, by wolves and now by multinational power companies. By their side the small village of Sabucedo preserves something unique: an ancestral and intimate bond. Both horse and villager live in a mirrored situation: the end of the ones brings the end of the others.

Through a blurred memory, this journey, a search for the person behind the character, propose the testimonies of his biographers and friends and the readings of his articles in some of the cities where he worked as a correspondent (Lisbon, Paris, London, Berlin, Rome or New York).

Aamelat. Day Laborers of War

An author documentary that narrates the life conditions and power of resilience of the Sirian refugee women that since the outbreak of the war in Syria have spent years working as day laborers in informal settlements in the Bekaa Valley (Lebanon) under exploitative conditions. Without basic rights they cannot prosper nor return to Syria while there is war. Their future it's uncertain.

The Shortest Border in the World

An 80-metre blue rope runs across the sandy isthmus that forms the shortest border in the world. This line separates Spain from Morocco and Europe from Africa. On one side is the Rock of Vélez de la Gomera, a fortified military outpost occupied by the Spanish army for five centuries. On the other side is the Moroccan Rif fishing village of Badis, which seems to live suspended in time. When a Spanish filmmaker arrives in Badis, members of four generations of the village observe the vestiges of Spanish colonisation from the distance.

Improway: another way of living music

Professional pianist Lute Domínguez has created IMPROWAY, an innovative gestural method that allows anyone to make music in real time. Practiced at a public music school in Getafe, this approach uses hand movements to simplify traditional notation. The documentary follows a diverse group of students preparing for a concert in six months, showcasing how music creation can be accessible to all. It also features workshops in conservatories and reactions from renowned musicians encountering the method for the first time.

Nature Documentaries in Spain

During the streaming boom and the lockdown in 2020, nature documentaries reached historic consumption peaks, a trend that continues today, supported by the development of new windows of exploitation such as fast channels. In Spain, content production companies in this documentary sub-genre have benefited from technological democratization - drones are now available where helicopters were previously needed - and offer high-quality products on very tight budgets. This means that Spanish documentaries continue to be highly appreciated by the main international buyers.

The summer months, as well as November and December, saved a year whose first half did not record good figures. However, Spanish cinema and local distributors ended up being the year's big winners, increasing their revenues compared to 2023.

Q&A with Antonio Saura, founder of Latido Films

For over two decades at the helm of Latido Films, Antonio Saura has sold key titles of Spanish cinema worldwide. Moreover, his unique experience in the sector is also backed by his credits as a producer for Zampa Audiovisual and Zebra Producciones, as well as his role as deputy chairman of the European Film Academy from 2008 to 2019, and his two-year tenure as director of the Media Business School, one of the most prominent international business training institutions. Saura’s historical perspective is undoubtedly exceptional in terms of the history of Spanish cinema and its global reach. Some recent, brilliant Spanish titles in Latido line-up include Isaki Lacuesta’s “Saturn Return”, Carlos Marques-Marcet’s “They Will Be Dust”, Antón Álvarez’s “The Flamenco Guitar of Yerai Cortés” or David Pérez Sañudo’s “The Last Romantics”.

Spanish Representation at the Marché du Film Stands out in 2023, with More than Twenty Spanish Projects Selected in Official Programs

The names of the projects selected to represent the Spanish film industry at the Cannes Film Festival market have been announced: five producers will participate in the Producers Network's Spanish Spotlight, four documentary proposals will be presented in the Spanish Showcase at Cannes Docs, five projects in development will be presented by Spanish Screenings at Goes to Cannes and eight short films will be shown at the Short Film Corner.

“Terminal” receives an Honourable Mention at TIFF 🔥

Alexandre Siqueira’s animated short “Terminal” has received an Honourable Mention for Best Animated Short Film at the 51st Toronto International Film Festival.
The film follows Jorge, a man in his fifties who returns home to his mother after more than 30 years travelling the world. When his mother discovers that he is ill, she is confronted with her son’s desire and forced to question her faith, values and understanding of loss.
