The names of the projects selected to represent the Spanish film industry at the Cannes Film Festival market have been announced: five producers will participate in the Producers Network's Spanish Spotlight, four documentary proposals will be presented in the Spanish Showcase at Cannes Docs, five projects in development will be presented by Spanish Screenings at Goes to Cannes and eight short films will be shown at the Short Film Corner. 

Spain will continue to celebrate and promote its achievements in Cannes at the upcoming Marché du Film, the world’s biggest international film market event, taking place from 16 to 24 May during the 76th edition of the Festival de Cannes.

The rise of the animation industry in Spain was one of the narrative benchmarks of this event, held from September 19 to 22 in the French city of Toulouse

With the boost that Santiago Segura's "Padre no hay más que uno 3" has been giving the Spanish cinema box office since its release on July 14 –it is already the highest-grossing Spanish film of the year, bringing in almost €7 million in just 12 days–, upcoming domestic releases are taking on the challenge of attracting mainstream audiences to theaters as well..

The boost to production driven by pay-TV operators and streaming platforms keeps the boom in the production of fiction series in Spain at an all-time high, including projects with increasingly global ambitions.

Summer of international recognition: Jonás Trueba’s film “You Have to Come and See It” wins the Special Jury Prize in Karlovy Vary, after Wanda Films’ documentary “The Hidden Eye” triumphed at Sunny Side of the Doc and Mago Audio Visual Production’s animated series “La Orquestita” won at the Pulcinella Awards organized by RAI in Italy.

The event, which held its fifth edition in La Laguna (Tenerife), is rapidly consolidating its position as a key meeting point for the region's industry

Beta Group, the European giant led by Jan Mojto, is stepping up its commitment to both content and the Spanish market with the launch of Beta Fiction Spain, a new company that will produce TV series and feature films, offer production services, and act as Beta's film distribution arm in Spain.
