The most prominent documentary film festival in North America, Hot Docs, is set to return to Toronto, Canada from April 25th to May 5th. This event, which has gained worldwide acclaim, serves not only as a showcase for the latest and most impactful works in the documentary genre but also as a gathering point for filmmakers, industry professionals, and cinema enthusiasts.

Hot Docs is renowned for its wide range of documentaries, spanning from real-life stories to issues of political, social, cultural, and environmental significance. With Spain as the focus country, the festival not only celebrates the excellence of Spanish cinema but also strengthens ties between the film industries of different countries, thus promoting diversity and collaboration in the art of documentary filmmaking.

This year, Hot Docs has turned its spotlight on Spain, giving it a prominent place in its programming and networking activities. This special attention provides a platform to showcase the best of Spanish documentary cinema and opens new doors for international collaboration and cultural exchange.

Under the section "Made In Spain," attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy five feature-length films, four short films, and a restored original film from 1971 by the Spanish Film Archive. This selection, curated by the Hot Docs team and ICEX, represents the highlights of Spanish documentary production, offering a unique window into the richness and diversity of Spanish culture and society.

In addition to screenings, Hot Docs facilitates meetings among industry professionals to foster collaboration and project development. This time, a "deal maker" event will take place, featuring four exciting co-productions, along with a "co-production roundtable" bringing together producers and industry experts to discuss opportunities and challenges in the documentary industry.
